Is there a teacher's guide?
Yes! A Teacher's Guide for Level 1 and for Level 2 is being released by August 1st with lesson-by-lesson support and teaching notes for each level.
Do I need to do the workbooks in order?
These workbooks will be the most effective for your students if used in order. Level 1 begins with the basics of solfège, music theory, and voice technique. Level 2 continues the story of Maestro and his friends and the sequence of learning for teachers who want to keep going.
What age range or grade level is this for?
Students ages 7-12. The ability to read does help students with this workbook, but it can of course be used with younger or older students.
Does my student need to already read music?
No prior music knowledge or reading experience needed. Level 1 starts from the basics. As students move through the levels, they will gain the knowledge to help them proficiently read music and use their voice in a free, healthy way.
How is the book structured? Can I follow it in order, or jump around?
This workbook is designed to be taught in sequence, lesson 1 through 10. Each lesson builds on the knowledge learned in previous lessons.
I teach private voice lessons one-on-one. Will this work for me?
Yes! These workbooks were built in a private studio and work well for individual student lessons or group classes.
I teach in a classroom or co-op with multiple students. Does this workbook work in a group setting?
Yes! This workbook was designed to work for group classes as well as one-on-one lessons.
I homeschool. Can I use this without a music background myself?
Yes! The teacher's guide will help you work through the workbook with your student, even if you have no prior experience as a musician. Also, coming soon- audio and video recordings for each lesson to help guide you through them, even if you aren't a musician yourself!
How long does each lesson take to work through?
Most lessons fit well within 20-30 minutes, leaving room in your lesson time for voice warm-ups and repertoire study.
Is this a physical book or a digital download?
Hello, Voice!™ is a printed workbook, shipped to you.
Can I make copies for multiple students, or do I need one per student?
Each student needs their own copy. Hello, Voice!™ is designed as a consumable workbook (students write directly in it as part of the learning process,) so photocopies won't give them the same experience. Copyright prohibits duplicating this material, and we want to keep supporting new levels and materials for years to come. That's only possible if each workbook sold represents a real student using it.
